Change

Change.  It is something that is unavoidable. Sometimes we really don't like it when it happens but there is always something good about change.

Funny story this week about change. I was working on a motorcycle with my friend. It's old, 1980 to be exact. The shifter, the pedal you use to shift, was bad. Normally that should take about 10 minutes to take off the old one and put on the new one. Unfortunately, because the old shifter had only experienced the change of being tightened it had warped onto the bike.  We had to actually cut the old part to remove it.

So my advice is try and find some good change in your life so you don't have to do more painful work to have change.

  1. Change is definitely one of those very important aspects of life to embrace. Often times, it is the hardest for me. I enjoy being able to understand my routine and to predict upcoming events with ease. Thats is commonly not the case. Just like the motorcycle, there have been points in this past week for me that have forced me to change. Hopefully for the better! I had to weld out and recondition a few of my own crucial parts. Thanks for the great article!

  2. This post also reminded me that if we do not choose our path, the forces in our environment will often shape us. Change can occur with or without our consent. How we change, and what we change into are, however, under our control. We can allow the decisions that we take shape us into the people that we want to become. Thank you for the reminder.
